Known as VET PACT – Enhancing VET Practices and Capacities through Transformative Learning, this two-year initiative commenced on January 1, 2023, and will conclude on December 31, 2024. Bringing together six countries, the project aims to promote transformative learning, improve the quality of VET education, and enhance the employability of VET school graduates. The project encompasses partners from Latin American countries, namely Argentina, Colombia, and El Salvador, as well as European partners from Hungary, Romania, and Spain. Six NGOs participate as full partners, along with four VET schools as affiliate partners, involving a total of 1,800 students and 180 teachers. The diverse composition of partners and participants promises a wealth of perspectives and experiences that will enrich the project.

The VET PACT project presents a remarkable opportunity for collaboration among partners from Latin America and Europe, united in pursuit of a shared objective. The primary aim is to promote transformative learning by applying this approach in the context of VET. By doing so, the project seeks to enhance the quality of VET education and align VET programs more closely with the demands of the labour market. Furthermore, the project endeavours to bolster the employability of VET school graduates. Through the development of innovative teaching methods, the project aims to enhance the skills and competencies of VET students, making them more desirable to prospective employers.

The VET PACT project is set to commence soon with a face-to-face meeting in Argentina. This initial gathering will provide an opportunity for all partners to convene, establish a shared understanding of the project’s goals and objectives, address any remaining queries, and finalize contractual agreements. Currently, the project is in the research phase, involving desk research, interviews, and data collection. These ongoing activities will also be discussed during the meeting in Argentina. The research phase focuses on assessing the present state of VET education in the six partner countries, providing crucial groundwork for the subsequent stages of the project.
